Plano Makes it Back-to-Back Titles

Slim victory over Somonauk ends most hectic and storm filled tournament to date

Plano High School - Little Ten Champs
1947planobball.jpg

Plano battled LTC opponents and mother nature to win their second consecutive tournament title. After wins over tournament host Serena (40-34) and Hinckley (44-37), Plano and the rest of the teams had to wait through a massive ice storm that hit northern Illinois. The storm canceled a night of games and the tournament had to be moved for a night to Somonauk when power hadn’t retuned to Serena. With the tournament returning to Serena the final two nights, Plano defeated Sandwich in the semifinals and then Somonauk in a down to the wire championship contest.

Somonauk reached the finals with wins over Paw Paw and Rollo.

Rollo earned third place honors with a 48-30 win over Sandwich.
