Waterman, the defending champs, captured their third straight title
and eleventh overall as they defeated Shabbona (27-21), Leland (43-16) and finally Earlville (38-16). Earlville had just beaten
Waterman 31-30 in a conference game played at Earlville and were looked at as favorites to take the title, but it wasn’t
to be.
