Serena Wins Champiosnhip Game in Sudden Death Thriller

Plano 72, Somonauk 47

Dick Dennis led Reapers with 19 points, Ken Kosulic paced Bobcats with 11.

Leland 63, Sandwich 57

Ken Baker scored a game-high 27 points for the Panthers, while teammate Gary Leonard added 22.  The Indians were by Bob White's 17 tallies.

Waterman 75, Paw Paw 59

Wolverine Doug Wilson was impossible to stop as he connected on 16-of-20 shots and added four free throws for 36 points.  Gene Kehm was tops for Bulldogs scoring 22 markers.

Serena 62, Earlville 35

Huskers balanced attack was led by Jerry Hanson's 15 points.  Mickey Johnson followed with 14 and Dan Christopherson 13.  The Red Raiders were led by Tom Atherton who had 12 points.

Shabbona 68, Plano 59

Rich Benson led the Indians with 23 points, John Hopwood added 20.  Dick Dennis scored 17 points for the Reapers, Bill Heller chipped in 14.

Hinckley-Big Rock 58, Leland 53

Bob Raymond led Royals with 14 points, Chuck Ott netted 11.  Leland was paced by Ken Baker's 18 points.

SEMIFINALS

Hinckley-Big Rock 60, Waterman 55

Jim LaSanska led balanced Royals with 15 points, Bob Raymond and Cyril Matter each added 13 a piece.  Doug Wilson had a game-high 22 points for Wolverines, Roger Larson chipped in 12.

Serena 59, Shabbona 57

Mickey Johnson's late jumper gave the Huskers the lead for good.  Johnson scored a team-high 17 points, Dan Christopherson had 15 and Gary Dolder 10.  Indian's John Hopwood had a game-high 22 points, Rich Benson chipped in 13.

THIRD PLACE GAME

Shabbona 86, Waterman 67 

John Hopwood netted a tournament-high 38 points to lead his Indian's to the third place trophy.  Hopwood sank 14 field goals and 10 free throws in the game, while teammate Rich Benson tallied 18 points.  The Wolverines were paced by Roger Larson (31 points) and Doug Wilson (14)
