No Surprise.... Shabbona Champs

Shabbona entered the 1959 Little Ten Conference Tournament at Hinckley as the top seed, 16-0, and ranked fourth in the state according to the United Press International Poll. The Indians opened with a 97-38 win over Earlville with the 97 points being a tournament record.  In the semifinals Serena became another victim as Shabbona rolled to a 81-35 victory, while second place Leland clipped Sandwich 74-54.  Leland, who had fallen 70-52 earlier in the season to the Indians, fell behind 23-9 after one quarter in the championship game and were defeated 91-41.
